Position Overview:

Performs routine and specialized non-invasive neurological tests as ordered by the physician for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results to physician in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000. Available to external candidates in accordance with the Sutter Health policy

Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma: HS Diploma or GED

Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (END) program.


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
REEGT-Registered Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist

OR EMG-Certified Electromyographic Technologist

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
1-year recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

In-depth knowledge of neurodiagnostic services, mechanics, and equipment. Basic functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology relevant to EEG and/or EMG

Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Knowledge of electrographic correlates of clinical conditions such as generalized tonic-clonic seizures, complex partial seizures, and nonepileptic events.

Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations in neurodiagnostics, basic electricity and electronic concepts of EEG and/or EMG equipment, as well as anatomical correlation of EEG waveforms.

Capable of evaluating EEG and/or EMG test results as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and medical terminology.

Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
