About the role

The SAP COE Account to Report Group Reporting Senior Professional is responsible for ensuring stable, compliant, and efficient execution of SAP GRIR within an AMS environment. The role delivers value by supporting business‑critical Group Reporting operations, resolving production issues, and enabling accurate legal and compliant reporting across global entities.

Tasks*

1) Main tasks:

Manage incidents, problems, and change requests related to Group Reporting within defined SLA timelines. Support end‑to‑end Group Reporting processes including the full consolidation lifecycle — from legal entity data collection and currency translation through to intercompany eliminations, consolidation journal entries, and production of consolidated financial statements under IFRS. Analyse and resolve production issues related consolidation units, consolidation groups, versions, consolidation Chart of Accounts, Financial Data Collection (FDC) and Universal Journal integration — ensuring entity-level trial balance data flows correctly from local ledgers to the group reporting layer,   Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring Group Reporting ‑related issues and implement permanent corrective actions to improve system stability:

intercompany elimination procedures, including investment elimination (IE), intercompany payable/receivable elimination (IC P&R), intercompany profit in inventory (IPI), and intercompany revenue/expense elimination.

consolidation journal entries (manual adjustments, reclassifications, top-side entries) and their posting logic

consolidation methods (full consolidation, proportional, equity method) for complex group structures including joint ventures and associates

Support integration touchpoints between SAP Group Reporting, ICMR, AFC.

2) Secondary Tasks:

Tasks regularly performed in support of primary responsibilities:

  • Assist with minor system enhancements and configuration changes impacting Group Reporting: Universal Journal, Intercompany Reconciliation Processes  
  • Execute testing, validation, and documentation for changes and defect fixes in the AMS landscape.
  • Support period‑end close and regulatory reporting activities related to Group Reporting and not only (SAP AFC)

3) Miscellaneous tasks:

  • Maintain and update process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and knowledge articles for ATR Group Reporting support
  • Participate in audit support, global template harmonization initiatives, and continuous improvement projects within SAP CoE.

Qualifications, experience, know-how and skills critical for success*

1) Required training and education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or Information Technology

2) Required professional experience (in years):

  • 6–8 years of experience in SAP Finance / Account to Report, including hands‑on exposure to Group Reporting.
  • Proven experience working in AMS or Production Support environments with SLA‑driven delivery models.

3) Important personal qualities:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and process discipline
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a global support environment

4) Other specialized knowledge:

a) Technical Knowledge

  • Hands-on configuration experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance for Group Reporting (transaction codes CXA1, CX30, CX20, CXS1, CXN0, CXCU, CXCO, CXGO, CXNM).
  • Deep functional knowledge of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) integration with Group Reporting, including Financial Data Collection (FDC) via the Consolidation Staging Ledger.
  • Proven experience configuring intercompany reconciliation processes — IC matching rules, tolerance groups, and exception handling — ideally using the SAP Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR) application.
  • Experience with ownership management and equity method accounting configuration for joint ventures and associates.
  • Familiarity with the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration for group reporting story creation and management consolidation overlays.
  • Understanding of the Group Reporting Data Collection (GRDC) add-on for non-SAP entity data submission.

  • Practical experience supporting statutory consolidation processes in a multinational group — month-end, quarter-end, and year-end consolidated close.
  • Understanding of goodwill calculation, purchase price allocation (PPA), and first-time consolidation accounting from a system configuration perspective.
