About the role
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical instrumentation and control systems. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Under minimal supervision, install, test and repair electrical instrumentation and control systems
Read and interpret repair manuals, diagrams and schematics for the safe installation and repair of electrical instrumentation and control systems
Accurately complete required documentation and record in a timely manner
Identify unsafe conditions through understanding of relevant occupational hazards and safety precautions; test and correct or report to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own
All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Industrial Control Systems or related field from accredited institution
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum 5 years’ repair and installation experience in varied industrial electrical instrumentation and control systems; experience in PLCs and computer based HMIs
Knowledge of national electric code, operation, assembly, installation and diagnosis of industrial instrumentation and control systems
Understands and uses hand tools to install and repair of industrial instrumentation control systems
Intermediate math and computer skills
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs
Frequently lifts overhead
Walks in an outside environment (including inclement weather conditions) on a daily basis, ranging from one to several miles per day
Works in an environment with strong, foul odors
Frequently uses visual skills to inspect birds, production charts and scales
Must use smelling senses to distinguish irregular odors
Frequently enters confined space areas
Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling
