What’s the role
Shell Canada is seeking a Plant Engineer & Maintenance Manager to join its team at the Brockville Lube Plant.
The Plant Engineer & Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Brockville Plant Manager, is accountable for delivering engineering and maintenance leadership at the Brockville Lubricant Oil Blending Plant (LOBP). The role requires day-to-day troubleshooting, leading small capital projects, and coordinating with the Regional Engineering Team on larger initiatives. Beyond leadership of the Maintenance team, the role is a member of the Brockville Management Team and, as such, participates in the development and implementation of plant-wide policies, procedures, and practices.
The role is responsible for leading the Maintenance Team at the Brockville LOBP. The team consists of four millwrights, while also overseeing other trades required to successfully maintain plant integrity. The Plant Engineer & Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in leading a team of five highly knowledgeable staff, ensuring they are set up to succeed and removing barriers to support effective delivery.
Accountabilities:
Deliver Goal Zero and HSSE strategy creating a safe and reliable work environment for all staff, neighbors and community. Utilize visible safety leadership to lead in HSSE
Plan, deliver and champion the Management of Change process
Drive compliance with regulatory requirements in areas of HSSE, engineering and construction including asset integrity (API 653) and TSSA
Drive robust design and engineering practices in accordance with Shell Lubricants Portfolio Requirement Standards (PRS) and Design Engineering Practices (DEP)
Identify and deliver Continuous Improvement opportunities within plant operations.
Support plant critical documents and drawing control
Support plant compliance with HSSE (Control Framework) and Quality (ISO, IATF) requirements, including audit participation and closure
Informal coach to front-line Operations staff in aspects of engineering and asset integrity
Provide technical assurance and delivery of the Maintenance Execution process, supporting maintenance by coordinating day-to-day activities
Deliver against the annual Maintenance budget OPEX plan
Contract owner role in maintenance contract management
End-to-end delivery of small capital projects and equipment purchases (<$250K USD headline)
Support Regional Engineering in scope definition and execution of Asset Integrity and Business Development capital projects (>$250K USD headline)
Deliver CAPEX on budget, on time, and assured per LSC Project Management System
Lead and inspire a team of 4 self-managed millwrights working collaboratively across all teams at Brockville LOBP
Drive performance tracking and analysis efforts, identifying trends/gaps relative to comparators, and translates them into operational targets and actions. (e.g., Run-rate charting, Equipment Uptime, Change-over time)
Serve as an active member of the Brockville Emergency Response Team
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
At least 5 years of experience in engineering and/or project management
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
Must have the ability to connect daily operations in Brockville to Brockville and Lubricants Americas goals
Must be able to work with and lead a diverse group of operators and supervisors, and effectively deliver results through others
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with hourly deadlines while still meeting long-term project objectives
Must be able to assess large volumes of data, identify critical information, and make confident decisions

What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $98,000 - $148,200 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity
