A Day in the Life
Medtronic is offering a unique and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to invigorate their career by joining the newly formed Quality ICT Mergers and Acquisitions team. In alignment with Medtronic’s strategic focus on Mergers and Acquisitions, this role provides the chance to guide multidisciplinary teams in managing the Quality aspects of diligence assessments and integration activities following acquisitions. As part of Medtronic’s ICT business unit, you will collaborate with a dedicated team as we strive to expand our product portfolio and bring new innovations and development opportunities into ICT.
The Senior QA Program Manager will play a pivotal role, providing high-level management and technical direction to Acquisition & Integration teams. This position is responsible for ensuring that all quality and compliance requirements are met throughout the diligence and integration process, leveraging Medtronic’s robust M&A procedures. A Day in The Life Of:
- Develop & Lead Integration plans in representing the Quality function, ensuring patient safety considerations are embedded in diligence assessments, integration plans, and follow up monitoring activities.
- Application of critical thinking to evaluate the quality systems and processes of target companies, identifying gaps and risks that could impact patient safety
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to analyse integration risks and develop mitigation strategies that safeguard patient safety during and after acquisition.
- Holds accountability for the overall quality process, program performance, and customer satisfaction during diligence assessments and post-acquisition integration
- Evaluates and manages resource and skillset requirements to meet program deliverables, ensuring teams are equipped for successful target integrations.
- Motivates and develops internal team members and external partners, setting clear expectations and performance standards to drive completion of major M&A projects
- Builds collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring all teams have the information and resources needed for effective integration.
- Coordinates and collaborates remotely with multidisciplinary teams across various time zones and geographies to support global M&A initiatives.
- Adapts project work plans and strategies to evolving business needs and integration requirements.
- Represents Medtronic Quality function in engaging with target companies, ensuring quality expectations are communicated and met.
- Demonstrates flexibility to travel as required, with approximately 10% travel expected to support M&A activities
Key Skills & Experience
- Holds a degree at Level 8 in Engineering, Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Medical device development experience preferable.
- Proven track record in issue resolution through effective communication, influence, and collaboration, promoting cooperation across R&D, IT, RA and other functional teams involved in M&A
- Strong understanding of structured product development, including requirements-driven engineering, documentation, rigorous verification, and rick management methodologies including DFMEA and PFMEA.
- An ability to Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyse integration risks and develop mitigation strategies that safeguard patient safety during and after acquisition
- Technically proficient in Medical Device based product development or relevant product development
- A strong knowledge base in Design Controls and how applied within a design history file. A working knowledge of SW development life cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate leadership team and business updates
- Proven influencing skills across functions and programs
- Ability to balance divergent objectives to achieve cooperation and alignment from other parties on program objectives and execution plans
