The Engineer will also be responsible for training customers on proper device usage, managing service contracts, and ensuring equipment is maintained in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Training: Provide on-site training for customers, ensuring they are proficient in using the equipment safely and effectively. Present technical information to hospital staff, including demonstrations on device operation.
  • Service Scheduling and Management: Schedule and manage your own service visits, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Oversee and maintain service contracts in your designated region to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customers, addressing any issues with devices and offering troubleshooting solutions. Resolve both equipment-related and user-related problems through effective communication and technical expertise.
  • Product Modifications and Upgrades: Install equipment modifications to enhance safety or improve performance based on customer needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and other technicians to address common concerns, resolve issues, and share knowledge. Collaborate with supervisors on technical matters and report regularly on your activities.
  • Test Equipment Management & Spare Part Inventory: Ensure the timely return of equipment for calibration when required and manage inventory levels in accordance with operational needs.
  • Professional Representation: Maintain a professional image at all times while interacting with customers and representing the company.
  • Upselling Service Contracts: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to sell service contracts to both new and existing customers. Clearly communicate the value of service agreements, including increased device uptime, cost savings, and enhanced support coverage.
  • Regional Service Revenue Accountability: Responsible for achieving the annual service revenue target within your designated region. These targets are set each fiscal year and require a strategic, customer-focused approach to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Application Engineering Responsibilities: Perform hands-on application engineering tasks such as product setup, user training, technical demonstrations, and clinical support. You will work closely with customers to ensure they are confident in using our equipment effectively and safely, acting as a subject matter expert on product applications.

Special Tasks: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed, including project-based tasks. These tasks are temporary and do not constitute a claim for a higher position or financial compensation.

Supervision: This position will report to the Manager, Service & Repair.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical products.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations and training to hospital staff.
  • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • Fluent in English and proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Hindi, local languages) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and transport company products.
  • Strong understanding of electronic principles and technical documentation.
