Job Description

The Company

Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health.

We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.

Role overview:
We are seeking a Technical Lead to be based at Dexcom’s Malaysia site. This role serves as the on-site technical owner and integration lead, acting as the primary engineering representative in-region while maintaining strong alignment with the US-based engineering organization. Reporting to Snr manager, process development locally and Snr Director Advanced Automation Engineering globally, this role is responsible for driving execution, accelerating learning transfer between sites, and leading completion of critical automated manufacturing builds.

Key responsibilities:
• Act as the single-threaded owner for system design, build, and integration activities at the Malaysia site, interfacing with Dexcom Equipment manufacturing partners and leveraging existing local subject matter experts.
• Serve as ‘boots on the ground’ technical leadership, ensuring rapid issue identification, escalation, and resolution during design reviews, build and ramp activities.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Controls, Operations, Quality, and external vendors.
• Drive system-level integration, risk identification, and mitigation activities across mechanical, process, and equipment domains.

• Ensure processes are robust, with wide process windows.
• Support equipment and process qualification activities in compliance with Dexcom PDP and QMS requirements.
• Translate learnings, gaps, and risks observed at contract manufacturer and Dexcom sites into actionable feedback for US-based engineering teams.
• Support completion of a major manufacturing build, including readiness for pilot and scale-up, while operating effectively in an ambiguous project environment.
• Own and maintain technical deliverables, timelines, and RAID tracking to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Represent site execution status and technical risks in cross-site engineering and leadership forums.
• Enable knowledge transfer to local operations teams through documentation, training, and hands-on technical support.

Required experience & capabilities:
• Deep, hands-on expertise across multiple hardware engineering domains, including system integration in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional engineering efforts through development, qualification, and manufacturing ramp.
• Strong background in high-volume, high-reliability manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously on-site while maintaining tight alignment with remote engineering leadership.
• Experience identifying and mitigating system-level technical and process risks under aggressive timelines.
• Experience interfacing with external equipment and materials vendors.
• Strong analytical skills, including experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results (Six Sigma, DOE experience preferred).
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information across cultures and organizational levels.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence, align, and resolve conflict in matrixed teams.

Education & background:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.
• Typically 13+ years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent advanced degree with commensurate experience.
• Prior experience working in global or multi-site manufacturing organizations strongly preferred.
