About the role
The eUICC carrier technical leads are integral parts of the carrier team, acting as the relay of NXP product and engineering team in front of telecom operators. They are the voice of NXP on technical validation and future roadmap to be considered into NXP eUICC products specially targeting Chinese market. Beyond being the technical experts dealing with Chinese carriers, they are the owners of the relation with the relevant carrier teams in China and lead the growth of this relation, representing NXP and its eUICC products.
Very close relation with Chinese Carrier validation peers, eUICC product marketing team, OEM customer support teams and engineering across multiple continents, these individuals have a key pivotal role in the acceptance of NXP eUICC products into the Chinese/world-wide telecom ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Lead SIM/UICC/eSIM in the assigned region, act as technical advisor for eSIM solutions.
Main technical interface for carriers in the assigned region.
Ensure technical validation activities and help building solid relationships and partnerships with these carriers.
Conducting test sessions with devices and loggers and analysis of results.
Contribute to the architecture, design, development, debugging and maintenance of NXP's flagship eUICC software smart card products.
Interactions with multiple engineering teams across the organization, and lead technical upgrades of eUICC OS.
Close relation and coworking within SIM validation team and eUICC product marketing team.
Working closely with customer application support to understand the issues reported by various Chinese MNO/OEMs
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook in establishing relations with global cross functional team
Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view and A good team player.
Helping/Interfacing/supporting OEM to commercialize eSIM solution
Requirements:
Experience in defining UICC/eUICC product requirements and technical carriers roadmap activities for China.
Expert level knowledge on telecommunication platform technical specification for UICC/eUICC Standards :
ETSI, 3GPP standards used for UICC, SIM, Toolkit and OTA features.
GSMA SGP21/22/23, TCA SAIP.
Global Platform.
Java Card
ISO 7816, ISO 14443.
Programming Language: JAVA, C
Experience in eUCC Profile development and eUICC OS architecture.
Experience in working with UICC/eUICC testing and debugging tools (eg. COMPRION, UL, FIME).
Other: Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel local to China & internationally for meeting the business commitments (≈20%).
