Virginia Eye Consultants is seeking a Vitreoretinal Surgeon to join our multi-subspecialty team in Coastal Virginia!

About the Practice:
Celebrating over 60 years of world-class specialty eye care, Virginia Eye Consultants is nationally recognized for excellence in surgery, research, and teaching. Located in vibrant Norfolk, VA, we are a referral-based practice with a sterling reputation locally and internationally.

Our team includes 17 MDs, 7 ODs, and 2 PAs across all adult subspecialties. With strong referral networks, state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical technology, and an industry-leading 5-room ophthalmic-only ASC, we provide our physicians the support and resources to deliver exceptional care. The practice also maintains a full-time clinical research department and has a strong teaching affiliation with the local medical school ophthalmology residency program.

About the Position:

  • Immediate patient access to surgery performing cataract and vitreoretinal procedures, including retinal detachment repair, macular surgery, diabetic eye disease, and complex posterior segment cases

  • Established patient referral base with immediate clinic and OR access

  • 1:3 months call rotation (ODs take first call)

  • Mentorship and collaboration with nationally recognized subspecialists

  • Teaching and research opportunities available

  • Full integration into a busy, collaborative, multi-subspecialty team
