Anduril Industries
Job Description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Mission Operations (MOPs) team is responsible for managing the execution, growth, and success of our customer accounts. Working across product, engineering, sales, and logistics teams, our Mission Operations Engineers own the customer relationships and develop, plan, and deploy Anduril products in support of their missions. They work side-by-side with customers to understand their specific problem sets and then shape Anduril’s offerings alongside our engineering teams to fit the mission needs. Because the problems we solve are uniquely challenging, our Mission Operations Engineers naturally gravitate toward finding solutions and are adept at navigating organizational hurdles. They are ultimately responsible for customer and mission success and therefore play a critical role in the shaping and future of Anduril Industries.
Connected Warfare is one of Anduril's Business Lines focused on building a next-gen software-defined distributed C2 architecture focused on orchestrating and automating 3rd party combat-fielded sensors and strike-networks for synchronized joint operations. We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support the US Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program. This role is a critical element to help mature our prototyping approach and set condition for the program to transition to production. You will be responsible for driving the Mission Engineering process and developing and maintaining a reference architecture - both of which will underwrite the program’s approach. As part of this, you will define common services and ensure that engineering investments are aligned to operational (end user) needs. You will need to work across a diverse set of industry and government stakeholders to drive alignment and create clarity. You should understand systems engineering principles, Mission Engineering, and data fabric and tactical networking.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead NGC2’s Mission Engineering process: Drive and orchestrate the full Mission Engineering process for the NGC2 program, defining, analyzing, and managing mission-critical capabilities to ensure robust operational relevance for prototyping efforts and a seamless transition to production.
- Develop and maintain the reference architecture: Architect and govern the NGC2 program's comprehensive reference architecture, establishing foundational patterns, principles, and technical guidelines for a next-gen, software-defined distributed C2 system to ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability.
- Establish program requirements and define core services: Translate complex operational imperatives into clear, actionable system requirements for NGC2, while defining reusable core services and shared components that optimize engineering investments and directly support critical end-user mission outcomes.
- Gather input and drive alignment across a variety of stakeholders: Proactively engage and synthesize input from diverse government, industry, and internal stakeholders, facilitating cross-organizational alignment and fostering a unified technical and operational vision for the NGC2 program.
- Synchronize Systems Engineering efforts across government and industry: Orchestrate and harmonize Systems Engineering activities across government, industry partners, and internal teams, ensuring coherent designs, seamless integration of disparate models (government, customer, Anduril's), and end-to-end system integrity for NGC2.
