About the role

Who are we?

At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries.

Disclaimer:

Finastra has signed an agreement to sell its Universal Banking business to Pollen Street Capital, with completion expected end 2026 / early 2027, subject to consultation and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success.

About the Role

We are building the next generation of corporate banking capabilities using a composable domain service approach, aligned to an agentic platform direction. This represents a shift away from monolithic core systems towards modular, domain-aligned, API-first services delivered incrementally.

As Senior Product Owner for Corporate Banking (Cash & Liquidity), you will own the outcomes, priorities and decision frameworks for critical banking capabilities across liquidity management and core cash operations. In an agentic platform world, many traditional Product Owner activities, such as requirements elaboration, story generation and test scenario creation, will be AI-assisted. The human role therefore shifts from managing artefacts to owning domain outcomes, agent behaviour, governance, business rules and measurable value.

This role sits within the Corporate Banking Product Management function and reports to the Product Manager for Corporate Banking.

Domain Scope

You will be responsible for capabilities across cash and liquidity, including:

  • Nostro Management

  • Bank Limits

  • Notional Pooling

  • Credit Lines (liquidity context)

  • Cash Operations

  • Virtual Accounts

This domain forms a foundational layer of the corporate banking platform, supporting real-time liquidity management, operational control, and client-facing cash services. Knowledge of bilateral and syndicated lending would be beneficial but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Domain Outcome Ownership

  • Own the outcome roadmap and product backlog for the cash and liquidity domain, ensuring priorities are tied to measurable business value.

  • Translate product strategy into clear domain outcomes, epics, features and acceptance criteria that support incremental delivery.

  • Make prioritisation decisions that balance client needs, architecture, delivery constraints, risk, governance and long-term platform reuse.

Agent Behaviour and Decision Governance

  • Define how AI-assisted or agentic behaviours should support users and business processes across the domain.

  • Own the decision governance model, including what can be automated, what requires human review and what must remain human-controlled.

  • Ensure agent behaviour is explainable, auditable and aligned to agreed business rules, policies and controls.

Human-in-the-Loop Operating Models

  • Define human-in-the-loop operating models for key workflows, including escalations, exceptions, approvals and control points.

  • Clarify the role of users, services and agents across end-to-end workflows so automation supports accountable decision-making.

  • Validate proposed operating models with internal stakeholders, client-facing teams and domain specialists.

Business Rules, Policies and Knowledge Ownership

  • Own the business rules, policies, domain assumptions and knowledge definitions that shape how the cash and liquidity domain behaves.

  • Work with Business Analysts to ensure requirements, workflows, decision models and test scenarios reflect intended business behaviour.

  • Maintain clarity of domain boundaries, cross-domain dependencies and reusable service definitions within the wider architecture.

Agentic Platform and AI Literacy

  • Use AI-assisted approaches to accelerate discovery, backlog refinement, requirements elaboration and validation, while retaining human accountability.

  • Review and challenge AI-generated artefacts to ensure they are accurate, complete, explainable and aligned to product strategy.

  • Identify opportunities for reusable domain intelligence, decision logic and workflow automation across the platform.

Engineering and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native services aligned to platform architecture.

  • Contribute to APIs, service contracts, event interactions, data structures and flows where these shape product behaviour.

  • Partner with Product Management, Business Analysis, architecture and client-facing teams to validate capability and operating model assumptions.

  •

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, prioritised backlog aligned to business outcomes

  • Delivery of modular cash and liquidity services that can be reused across the platform.

  • Well-governed agentic and AI-assisted behaviours that are explainable, auditable and aligned to business rules and policies.

  • Practical human-in-the-loop operating models that support accountable decision-making and progressive automation.

  • Strong ownership of domain knowledge, decision frameworks, business rules and policies.

  • Tangible progress across foundational corporate banking capabilities and the broader agentic platform direction.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in banking, financial services or enterprise software.

  • Strong knowledge in one or more of cash management, liquidity management, payments, transaction banking or corporate banking operations.

  • Ability to own product outcomes, prioritisation decisions and delivery trade-offs in a complex domain environment.

  • Experience translating product strategy into epics, features, acceptance criteria, business rules and delivery guidance.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end workflows, decision points, exception handling and operational controls.

  • Comfortable applying AI-assisted techniques while maintaining human accountability for domain intent and outcomes.

Desirable

  • Experience with corporate banking or core banking platforms

  • Familiarity with API-led, event-driven or cloud-native architectures.

  • Exposure to liquidity structures such as notional pooling or intraday liquidity management.

  • Understanding of operational and regulatory considerations in liquidity.

  • Exposure to agentic workflows, AI-assisted product delivery, decision governance, rules engines or human-in-the-loop operating models.

Working Model

You will operate within a domain-aligned product structure, working alongside:

  • Product Manager – Corporate Banking

  • Business Analysts aligned to cash and liquidity

  • Engineering squads delivering domain services

  • Architecture, quality and domain subject matter experts

The role requires a balance of outcome ownership, backlog discipline, domain understanding, decision governance and cross-functional collaboration. It also requires the ability to work with AI-assisted delivery practices without losing human ownership of business intent, rules and outcomes.

Our Approach

We are building using a composable domain service model:

  • Domain-aligned, modular service architecture

  • API-first and event-driven design

  • Cloud-native deployment

  • Incremental delivery of business capability

  • Human-owned business outcomes, decision frameworks, rules and policies

  • AI-assisted delivery artefacts under appropriate governance

  • Human-in-the-loop operating models that support accountable automation

This enables banks to adopt new capabilities progressively, without requiring large-scale core replacement, while allowing product teams to focus more strongly on outcomes, explainable decisions and reusable domain intelligence.

Why Join

  • Opportunity to help shape a modern corporate banking platform

  • Work on foundational capabilities in cash and liquidity that sit at the heart of corporate banking.

  • Be part of a strategic shift towards domain-led, composable and agentic banking architectures.

  • Help define how agentic behaviours, human-in-the-loop operating models and governed decision frameworks should work in banking.

  • Collaborate with experienced product, engineering, architecture and domain specialists.
