About the role


Overview:
LeoLabs is offering a SkillBridge opportunity for active-duty service members to join our Launch and Orbit Support Team. You’ll play a key role in supporting space operations and orbital intelligence, contributing to real-time customer support, orbit determination, and launch operations. This hands-on role gives you exposure to cutting-edge radar and orbital systems while developing tools and workflows to increase operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do:
· Provide operational support for LeoLabs’ Launch and Early Operations (LEOP) products during orbital launches.
· Support manual Orbit Determination (OD) tasks, including filter tuning and tracking data validation.
· Monitor and maintain orbit quality using internal tools and Python scripts.
· Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to time-sensitive events.
· Triage and respond to customer inquiries related to orbit data, launch tracking, and catalog accuracy.
· Contribute to the development, testing, and documentation of internal tools and workflows.
· Identify repetitive operational tasks and help develop automation strategies.

What You Bring:
· Active-duty service member eligible for SkillBridge participation (within 180 days of separation).
· B.S. in Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or related field.
· Foundational knowledge of orbital mechanics and space operations.
· Experience with Python, MATLAB, Julia, or other scientific scripting tools.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Preferred: experience with pandas, numpy, matplotlib, SQL, Git, Docker, Unix, or Orbit Determination tools (e.g., AGI ODTK).

What You’ll Learn / Achieve:
· Within 1 month: Onboarded into LeoLabs systems and team; begin shadowing live operations.
· Within 3 months: Participate in on-call rotations, support LEOP missions, and contribute to technical projects.
· Within 6 months: Improve internal tooling, present project findings, and be recognized as a key contributor.
· Within 12 months: Proactively identify operational gaps, propose improvements, and participate in cross-functional initiatives.

Duration: 6 Months
