About the Role

This position is responsible for project launching from M7 to EOP. Target is to make sure all projects’ flawless launch on time with best cost and quality, and to manage any changes as required in order to eliminate any financial loss during a project life-time cycle

What You Will Do

  • Manage product full lifecycle from PV to EOL. Communicate with customers on launch or transfer status, meet customers’ satisfaction and gain customers’ approval on time
  • Manage program launches from M7 to M10. Serve as lead project interface with customer, meet customer’s satisfaction and gain customer’s approval for new projects
  • Lead team meetings by establishing a launch agenda. Monitoring discussion to ensure adherence to agenda, promoting a free exchange of ideas, challenging the pre-conceptions of team-members, finishing the meeting in a timely fashion, and publishing meeting minutes, to make sure internal approval to be carried out on time
  • Define tasks to be performed by cross-functional team during launch. Use task list to create a work breakdown structure.  Use work breakdown structure to establish program schedule
  • Coordinate and oversee ordering of prototype and production tooling, drive material and ship out samples on time
  • Maintain customer website as request and work with CBU to set up logistic in launch phase
  • Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution at the team level.  If resolutions require management intervention, escalate to appropriate management personnel with proposed alternatives
  • Follow corporate product development process. Ensure the customer and Harman compliance of team members
  • Maintain planning for capacity, budget and CAPEX
  • Interact with all internal functions: design engineering, IPM, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, marketing, sales etc
  • Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers. When a resource conflict occurs, negotiate a solution with functional managers.
  • Provide project reports in requested format regularly
  • Monitor project change and internal change as required
  • Lead EOP activities in manufacturing to eliminate manufacture cost loss

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Major preferably in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years Project Management experience managing projects throughout product lifecycle from development to end of production
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Experience in staffing, leadership development, employee relations, strategic planning, and project management
  • Experience in the automotive electronics industry is required
  • PMP certification preferred

  • Understanding and working in matrix organizations that have centralized and de-centralized structures as business requirements change
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment
  • Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans
  • Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels of a global matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and balance workload to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasking and strong follow through required
