About the team
Our Northern Europe Payroll & People Operations team keeps things running smoothly for SumUppers across Germany, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark & Belgium, making sure payroll is accurate, compliant, and on time. In this role, you'll start with a real focus on Germany, building solid foundations in payroll and people operations before gradually getting exposure to other countries and broader areas of the people ops and payroll space. You'll be the person SumUppers turn to with their questions, the one making sure payroll data is complete and correct, and the one digging into the detail to find what's missing. What you'll do
- Answer employee queries and be a reliable point of contact for SumUppers across Northern Europe
- Support payroll inputs, helping to make sure every SumUpper gets paid accurately and on time
- Use Excel to investigate and track down missing or inconsistent data, keeping records clean and compliant
- Be the go-to person for incoming questions via post and email, whether that's from employees, payroll providers, or insurance companies, making sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Support recurring administrative tasks tied to employee lifecycle changes, such as contract updates and onboarding
You'll be great for this role if…
- You're fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
- You have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in everything you do
- You're comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information with care and discretion
- You have a solid working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- You're proactive, curious, and genuinely driven to learn and develop over time
