IPSD Application Engineers work in Cat Aftermarket & Customer Solution organization, belong to S&CS (Service & Customer Support) team. This position is 100% focused on third party business, with the responsibility of supporting Dealers & Distributors A&I capability. Application engineers will primarily work with third party OEM power system and control team on new product development, and internally collaborate with sales, product group & engineering team, product support, etc.
What You Will Do:
- Act as the primary technical consultant to OEM customers on engine integration, installation design, and system optimization.
- Build strong relationships with customer engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, and controls) to influence machine architecture and performance outcomes.
- Lead complex or high-risk A&I projects, providing expert guidance on installation challenges, performance tuning, and compliance.
- Represent customer technical needs within internal Engineering and Product teams, ensuring voice of customer is effectively translated into product solutions.
- Lead end-to-end A&I process execution for complex programs with ownership of technical decisions and approval risk management.
- Perform deep technical assessments of machine design and site installations (cooling, air, fuel, mounting, exhaust, electrical integration, etc.) using calculations and simulation tools.
- Lead engine and machine performance tuning at OEM sites to achieve optimal system efficiency, emissions compliance, and durability targets.
- Provide high-impact technical support during sales pursuits, helping customers define optimal solutions and win new business opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analysis on performance or reliability issues using advanced diagnostic tools (CANape, dataloggers, ET/EST, etc.) and implement robust corrective actions.
- Develop & deliver A&I training for Dealers, Distributors and OEM partners (classroom, virtual, and on-site).
- Monitor, evaluate and develop Dealers & Distributors A&I capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
- Competent in use of Standard business tools including, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Speak fluent English and excellent in reading, writing.
- Independently manage customers programs with minimum supervision.
- More than 10 years of engine experience including application, design, performance, validation, etc.
- More than 5 years large EP Application & Installation experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering
Desired Qualifications:
- Data Center project experience
Additional Information:
- Able to travel globally up to 50% of time to meet customer expectation and support sales.
- Willingness to visit customer site at short notice (less than 24 hrs).
- This job required 5days working from office.
