About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and a continuous learning mindset to the tools and products they build. At this level, we believe great engineers operate effectively across problem spaces, lead through influence, and help shape both technical direction and engineering culture.
You will be trusted to take on complex, ambiguous problems and drive them to successful outcomes, applying best practices in Agile software development along the way. We value engineers who can adapt quickly, learn new technologies as needed, and focus on delivering meaningful impact rather than being constrained by specific languages or frameworks.
We will lean on your technical leadership, pragmatic decision-making, and ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term system health. You will work in an environment that prioritizes Agile principles, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making. You are comfortable forming and testing hypotheses, validating assumptions through experimentation, and using evidence to guide architectural and product decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance features across our supply-side ad-tech platforms, contributing to both frontend and backend systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable, and user-focused solutions.
- Contribute to the design of system components, APIs, and services with an emphasis on clarity, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code across the stack, following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Help improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability in critical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, participate in root-cause analysis, and contribute to preventative improvements.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture with a focus on collaboration, quality, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages; we use Rust, Kotlin, and TypeScript.
- Experience building and maintaining full stack applications and distributed systems in production environments.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, scalable system design, and modern web development practices.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and make pragmatic decisions in evolving or ambiguous situations.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating frontend and backend systems effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Commitment to code quality through testing, documentation, and maintainable design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools, agentic frameworks, or modern software development workflows.
- Experience working with containers and cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with TDD and spec-driven development practices.
- Experience with AdTech, especially solutions related to SSPs and DSPs.
The salary for this role is based on an annualized range of $180,000 - $240,000 USD. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.
