Job Summary
While working closely with research personnel, participates actively in a structured learning experience in the laboratory or clinical research setting. Gains hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical settings, data collection and analysis and/or other related skills to explore careers in biomedical and/or clinical research.

Responsibilities:
- Student will begin learning laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects in the laboratory or clinical setting with minimal supervision.
- Student will begin learning how to record and analyze data related to research experiments or other data sets with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required.
- May be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program student. (EXCLUDES students in a PhD program)
- This position is not applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for master’s or other advanced degree.
- Approval of the HR Director and Associate Chief of Research Training is required for candidates that have already completed a master's degree.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:
- None required.
- Students with previous clinical research or research laboratory experience are often preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to distinguish color.
- Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.

- Follows standard precautions using personal equipment required.
