As a proposal manager, you'll be managing the preparation and development of advanced, compelling proposals focused on client solutions that are aligned with commercial and operational strategy.
Essential Functions:
- Interprets and analyzes appropriate data to write and/or review study-specific proposals that support client solutions, incorporating graphics and tables as needed.
- Works collaboratively to ensure the proposal and related documents align to operational strategy and budget; ensures the proposal response meets client's request and follows up with contributors and subject matter experts as needed. Works effectively with senior leadership as contributors and/or reviewers. Creates initial draft of bid defense presentation using tables and graphics from proposal and then passes to project team for completion.
- Provides quality control and feedback on process or procedure improvement within department and/or cross-functionally.
- Assists in identifying need for and/or managing strategic library content.
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years).
- Excellent project management skills and financial acumen as related to business and operational strategy
- Expertise in the company's differentiated solutions offerings; ability to work across therapeutic areas
- Strong ability to manage multiple activities and priorities, with effective judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with strong editing skills
- Adept at translating technical and scientific information into client-friendly proposals
- Critical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills and problem solving ability, with ability to interact and build relationships with individuals at all levels
- Knowledge of clinical development process, including functional operations and regulatory guidelines and directives across full spectrum of development activities
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Powerpoint
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Exposure to high pressure, intense concentration needed

- Long, varied hours required occasionally
- Travel and rotating shifts required on rare occasions
- Exposure to toxic materials on rare occasions
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.
- Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
- Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multitask.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in District of Columbia is $103,000.00–$125,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
