What you'll do:
As Vice President, Senior Financial Crimes Officer at MUFG in Metro Manila, you will be entrusted with leading the charge against financial crime by implementing strategic compliance initiatives across diverse business units. Your daily responsibilities will involve advising senior management on complex reputational risks while overseeing regulatory change management efforts that shape policy development. You will act as MUFG’s representative during critical discussions with regulators and industry bodies—ensuring the organisation’s interests are well-advocated. Collaboration is central to this role; you’ll work hand-in-hand with internal stakeholders to uphold effective governance over compliance operations. - Represent MUFG in discussions with regulators and industry bodies, acting as a trusted liaison to ensure effective communication and advocacy for the firm’s interests.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including quality assurance teams, metrics analysts, capacity planners, and investigators—to maintain effective governance over compliance operations.
- Support the creation and implementation of global policies such as standards, procedures, and frameworks that drive operational excellence throughout the organisation.
- Ensure proper oversight for compliance-related initiatives involving third-party vendors by monitoring performance metrics and resolving operational issues promptly.
- Guide investigative teams by supporting their performance management, resource allocation decisions, and case throughput metrics to optimise workflow efficiency.
- Identify operational bottlenecks within investigative workflows and proactively resolve them to maintain smooth day-to-day operations at outsourced delivery centres.
- Coordinate with internal audit teams and regulators to address queries, manage issue escalation processes, and ensure seamless policy alignment across departments.

- Experience in financial crime compliance leadership roles within financial institutions equips you with practical insights into managing anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), and sanctions compliance programmes.
- Expertise in AML/Know Your Customer (KYC)/Customer Due Diligence (CDD)/Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes—including conducting thorough EDD investigations for high-risk customers—ensures you can handle complex cases effectively.
- Proven ability to lead cross-border investigations and respond efficiently to regulatory inquiries highlights your collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Subject matter expertise in AML/ Sanctions regulations, financial crime risk management practices—and familiarity with transaction monitoring —are highly valued skills for this position.
