About the role
We are looking for a specialist with broad FEM experience for our mechanical development department in GN Hearing.
The Team you will be part of:
Welcome to GN Hearing’s Mechanical line of R&D. With a team of more than 20 engaged Mechanical Engineers, we take pleasure in sharing ideas, brainstorming fresh concepts, experimenting with various materials, and designing effective manufacturing solutions.
We do not consider ourselves to be a typical Mechanical Engineering team. We take pride in the unique resources at our disposal, including advanced testing and sound laboratories, and our holistic approach to product development that spans from initial ideas through manufacturing and market evaluation. We utilize a wide range of different simulation tools to secure best performance of our products.
Customer feedback is essential for us, and we are proud of our efficiency and the fact that we are part of launching patient-centric new products on a regular basis. E.g. products like the recent ReSound Vivia that is our most advanced hearing aids to this date.
Our team also has a global scope as we have R&D colleagues in Xiamen, China, who are helpful sparring partners to our projects, while they also own their own projects.
While making a big difference for all our customers we also believe in creating a fantastic work environment. We aim to create a setting that encourages contributions from all and inspires innovative thinking around our products. We believe this is stimulating for our organization and for all team members. We have recently introduced an Agile approach to our projects to ensure that we can keep up with the newest technologies and trends before product launches.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
Participate in expanding the simulation competence across departments
Develop simulation models
Contribute to projects by sharing knowledge and conducting simulations
Explore new ways of using simulation for optimizing hearing instruments and accessories
Implement new material models suitable for the given simulation task.
To perform well in the role, you are likely to bring experience in the following areas:
3DXperience or similar software
FEM model creation
Python, including integration with macros in 3DXperience
Advanced material modelling within polymers and foams, such viscoelastic, plastic materials and hyperelastic behavior
Engineering analysis within areas such as structural mechanics, fluid flow, thermodynamics, acoustics, vibroacoustics, drop testing, and magnetic analysis
CFD (Computational fluid dynamics)
We work alongside our colleagues in the electroacoustics department, so it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of structural mechanics and vibroacoustics to accomplish our goals.
At GN, we support flexible working whenever possible and trust our people to balance flexibility with the need for in-person collaboration.
We encourage you to apply
Even if you do not match every qualification, we welcome your application if you believe you bring relevant transferable skills. We value mindset and motivation alongside experience, and we are committed to supporting your growth as well as that of your team and the wider GN organization.
