About the role

Job Description:

E.H Wachs, an ITW Company, is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Lincolnshire, IL. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for all duties associated with inbound and outbound shipments for our Lincolnshire facility.

How you will make an impact

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directly supervise hourly shipping and receiving clerks.
  • Train, plan, and assign work within department.
  • Maintain accurate work instructions for the shipping and receiving functions.
  • Step into the shipping and receiving clerk positions as needed.
  • Manage the flow of products both inbound and outbound to maintain a clear and clutter free work area.
  • Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries.
  • Manage all shipping accounts to ensure competitive shipping rates.
  • Approve inbound and outbound shipping invoices.
  • Ensure timely inbound receipt of goods, ready for transfer to other departments.
  • Maintain an understanding of basic international shipping documentation requirements.
  • Help determine shipping requirements for large and unique shipments.
  • Resolve customer shipping complaints and handle claims.
  • Act as an advisor to other facilities that ship products within EH Wachs.
  • Be an active participant in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere and comply with state and federal law, and the ISO Quality program and procedures.
  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • HS degree and 2 years experience in shipping and receiving. Prior supervisor experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has or will obtain IATA Dangerous Goods Certification.
  • Has or will obtain DOT Hazmat training.
  • Aptitude with computer programs, especially Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization and time-management skills.
  • Able to multi-task efficiently; and to work independently and interdependently.
  • Resourcefulness and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to operate various types of forklifts.
  • Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events
  • This job requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and stretching
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

Compensation Information:

The annual base salary range for this position is$62,700 – $78,000 annually. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
