Finastra is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer to join the Network Engineering organization. This position will deliver against network security, incident and response needs of Finastra. Additionally, the chosen candidate will partner with internal teams, management and vendors to implement against Finastra's network security roadmap. 

 

The ideal candidate should be forward-thinking, dedicated and detail-oriented with a strong desire to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Work directly with InfoSec and Network Engineering peers to develop and enhance network security capabilities that improve Finastra’s security posture. 

  • Proven ability to implement against published design standards. 

  • Execute against published runbooks for routine maintenance and network security enhancement activities.  

  • Maintain technical configuration documents and standard operating procedures related to network security services. 

  • Adhere to IT Service Management policy and procedures for return to service tasks, problem management, and change control activities. 

  • Support 24x7x365 network security incident and response needs. 

  • Role requires up to 10% business travel. 

 

Technical Skills and Required :4-6 Yrs

  • Functional knowledge of networking and data communication fundamentals including connectivity methods, security functions, and routing/switching protocols 

  • Functional knowledge of internetworking standards 

  • Functional knowledge of network security management tools 

  • Advanced knowledge of OSI model 

  • Minimum of 3 years network security implementation experience required. 

  • 1 year of Network Security design exposure desired. 

  • 3+ years of implementation experience with the following OEMs: Microsoft Azure (or AWS), Fortinet, F5, and Cisco. 

  • Working experience with the following security capabilities: application firewall inspection, intrusion detection/prevention, dynamic web filtering, internet proxy, firewall management and audit tools 

  • Implementation experience using web application protection capabilities - distributed denial of service and web application firewall. 

  • Proficient with advanced load-balancer capabilities 

  • Foundational knowledge of encryption standards and protocols. 

  • Micro segmentation knowledge and deployment experience desired 

 

Competencies 

 

  • 4-year undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 

  • Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – oral and written 

  • Customer focused 

  • Basic financial and accounting knowledge – amortization, depreciation, CAPEX/OPEX 

  • Ability to work well in a project team environment 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Detail and results oriented
