Labcorp is seeking a HYBRID Executive Director, Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) position to join our team!
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm EST
HYBRID: Applicants who live within commutable distance of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
The Executive Director, Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role will be heavily involved in all aspects of Enterprise budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial consolidation, performance management, and variance analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills and top-notch communication skills (written and verbal), capable of preparing financial materials for a wide range of stakeholders (including presentations for C-suite members and the Board of Directors), a solid foundation in Finance with demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, intellectual curiosity to learn about Labcorp’s businesses and value drivers, ambition to drive continuous improvement, and executive presence. This position will contribute to numerous time-sensitive, high-visibility, ad-hoc financial projects, analyses and presentations.
This Executive Director position will support Executive reporting for internal and external-facing updates, including Labcorp’s quarterly earnings process and Investor Day events. Interested candidates should have experience collaborating cross-functionally and with other Finance leaders (e.g., Tax, Treasury, Accounting, business unit CFO’s) to illuminate financial insights and support informed business decisions. Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the development and consolidation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-range plans (LRP) across all business units and functions
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Company’s financial planning processes, including managing timelines that balance day-to-day responsibilities and future deliverables; maintain Corporate FP&A calendar
- Active engagement in the Company’s Long Range Operating Plan (i.e., 5-year plan), including supporting modeling assumptions for the P&L, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, capital allocation, and capital structure considerations, as well as scenario planning.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodologies, including scenario planning and predictive modeling
- Responsible for free cash flow budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
- Executive Reporting & Insights
- Deliver high-impact Enterprise financial analysis and insights to senior leadership including CEO, CFO, Executive Committee and Board of Directors that inform important business decisions
- Lead preparation of Executive and Board presentations with clear narratives on performance, risks, and opportunities; expect close collaboration with CFO, Finance leadership, and other business leaders on key assumptions
- Collaborate with Finance leadership (Enterprise CFO, Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Financial Systems lead, etc.) across the organization to consolidate enterprise financial performance, introducing business process improvement over time
- Interpret complex financial information with an emphasis on driving value creation and supporting informed business decision-making
- Ensure quality assurance in all Corporate FP&A work product
- Financial Performance Management
- Support reporting on key enterprise financial and operational metrics, acquisition performance, impact of foreign currency translation, and headcount (for expense purposes)
- Monitor Enterprise-wide performance (monthly, quarterly, annually), including trend analysis, as well as identifying key variance drivers vs budget, forecast, prior year, and Consensus analyst estimates to finance and non-finance stakeholders throughout the organization
- Drive KPI framework development and standardization across the enterprise
- Strategic planning, tracking and reporting on “below-the-line” items, such as net interest expense, tax rate, non-operating income/expense, and share count, through partnership with other Finance and business leaders
- Strategic Planning & Decision Support
- Conduct scenario analysis across a wide range of financial outcomes, including investment alternatives, acquisitions, capital deployment, and capital structure considerations
- Assess risks and opportunities tied to macroeconomic trends, market dynamics, and internal performance
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with business unit FP&A leads, accounting, treasury, investor relations, and strategy teams
- Act as central point of coordination for enterprise-wide financial alignment
- Influence and challenge senior stakeholders to drive optimal outcomes
- FP&A Transformation & Systems
- Advise on technology / process improvement solutions related to Enterprise data consolidation, the monthly close process, maintenance of the long-range operating plan, and other management reports
- Support Enterprise readiness related to Finance system modernization, such as transition to Oracle Fusion ERP
- Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor team member(s) that are earlier in their career, creating a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Establish high level of credibility and trust; manage strong working relationships with internal customers
- Develop succession plans and strengthen organizational bench strength
- Build and scale Enterprise FP&A capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 + years experience in financial leadership, financial processes, financial data and analytics or Associate degree and 12+ years in financial leadership, financial processes, financial data and analytics required
- Travel and on-site presence 3x per week in Burlington or RTP, North Carolina required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA / CPA / CMA
- 7+ years extensive leadership experience with ability to manage and develop high-performing team members.
- 5+ years experience with automation, a continuous improvement mindset, and success integrating technology into financial processes
- 7+ years Investment banking experience, consulting experience, or participation in a selective, rotational financial development program with a large company preferred.
- 7+ years proficiency in financial software and tools; experience with PeopleSoft, Fusion, Tableau, Power BI. MS Office suite
- 7+ years prior use of Oracle’s Hyperion Financial Management, Peoplesoft, Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) and Oracle Fusion Cloud
