This Position reports to:
Global Indirect Tax Operations LeadIndirect Tax - Data Management & Analytics Lead
In this role, you will provide indirect tax expertise in data management and data analytics.
Each day, you will act as the internal point of contact for indirect tax data matters of low to medium complexity. You will coordinate how data issues are resolved with the finance, master data and information systems teams. Main stakeholders are the Global Tax team, country tax managers, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Master Data Governance, Information Systems, Global Process Owners and business units.
Your role and responsibilities
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Delivering compliance data for VAT/GST returns, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists and other indirect tax filings. You will also own the indirect tax compliance calendar, Tax Pulse reporting, and the KPI and anomaly dashboards.
- Running system checks in SAP Tax Compliance and ITX DA analytics tools, then reporting on exceptions and anomalies. You will find, report and resolve ERP data anomalies that affect how tax is calculated or reported, and validate customer and vendor tax master data with the Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Master Data teams.
- Maintaining the Global Tax Code Register and the Global Indirect Tax GL Register, including user acceptance testing of new and updated tax codes and managing GL accounts from opening to closure. You will also lead tax code, GL and data maintenance projects with Global Process Owners and Practice teams, and support e-invoicing and digital reporting rollouts.
- Management of ITX DA Analytics tool and co-ordinate on process improvements related to ITX DA Tool.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
- You have 8+ years of experience in indirect tax (VAT/GST) compliance, tax technology or tax data management, ideally in a multinational company or shared services center.
- You have strong skills in SAP (FI/SD/MM tax configuration, tax codes and GL accounts) and in SAP Tax Compliance or similar tax data analytics tools.
- You have advanced knowledge of data analytics and visualization platforms such as {insert tools, e.g. Power BI, Alteryx, Excel/Power Query, SQL}.
- You understand indirect tax reporting requirements.
- You care about data accuracy, root-cause problem solving and continuous improvement, and you are comfortable working with many stakeholders and leading projects.
- You have a degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce.
- You communicate well in English, both written and spoken.
