This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

 

In this role, you will Manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Formulates plan and allocates resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. Also, initiates, coordinates, leads, and oversees team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to build the engineering and design capability.

This role is contributing to the to the Quality Division for INOPC based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for delivering Automation and Distributed Control System (DCS) projects, ensuring high-quality and timely execution.
• Support the timely delivery of engineering solutions that meet customer requirements, contractual commitments, quality standards, and project schedules.
• Provide technical leadership in DCS/PLC systems, application engineering, HMI development, cybersecurity, and functional safety.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking to meet operational and financial objectives.
• Collaborate with customers, project management, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and engineering best practices to enhance productivity and delivery excellence.
• Develop team capability through coaching, training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing programs while building a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Support digital transformation and AI-enabled initiatives to improve engineering efficiency, project execution, and overall business performance.

Qualifications for the role:

 

• 15+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, Control Systems, and Engineering Project Execution within Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Process Industries.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale DCS/Automation projects.
• Strong experience in ABB 800xA, Infi90, AC800M, or similar Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Sound knowledge of DCS/PLC hardware and software components, control system architecture, networking, servers, and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience in application engineering, configuration, programming, and HMI development for PLC/DCS systems.
• Good knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, project execution methodologies, risk management, and quality processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, mentor engineering teams, and support operational excellence in a global project environment.
• Experience with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and project delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
