Retina Institute of Virginia is seeking a fellowship-trained Retina / Vitreous Specialist to join our growing team of ophthalmologists!

About the Practice:
With two primary offices and three satellite locations across Richmond, Fredericksburg, Tappahannock, Colonial Heights, and Williamsburg, RIV provides state-of-the-art care for retinal diseases in a personalized, patient-focused environment. Our board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians specialize in:

  • Diabetic retinopathy

  • Macular degeneration

  • Retinal tears & detachment

  • Retinal vascular diseases

  • Uveitis and trauma

Our mission is to provide highest-quality care with advanced equipment, facilities, and a dedicated support team.

About the Position:

  • Fellowship-trained in Retina / Vitreous (additional uveitis training preferred but not required)

  • Average surgical cases: ~6/week; Richmond-based surgery

  • Average patient volume: ~50/day

  • Flexible surgery schedule

  • M–F schedule with at least one full surgery day

  • No hospital calls; weekend/holiday rotation (8–9 weekends per year)

  • 20% travel to satellite office in Williamsburg

  • 5 MD Retina-only practice

  • Fully supported by techs, scribes, and testers
