Job Description
Serves as primary technical engineering resource for the manufacturing facility. Responsible for the management of plant maintenance and facilities engineering functions. Partners with the operational leadership team to achieve
operational objectives. Ensures plant operational compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate development of facilities maintenance, utility, and capital budgets. Manage the maintenance team, maintenance processes and methods to deliver process uptime and capability to achieve operational objectives and budgetary goals. Manage maintenance expenditures in compliance with budgets.
- Responsible and accountable for operational performance and goal attainment as specified by the assigned metrics in the operations scorecard. Responsible for reporting weekly and monthly operations scorecard metric performance including corrective action plans associated with any variances to goal.
- Manage internal fabrication of jigs and fixtures for production.
- Implement and maintain Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Propose projects that reduce cost and/or improve operational performance. Develop project scope, budgets, equipment engineering specifications and all documentation associated with the proposal and execution of capital projects. Implement facility and equipment capital projects.
- Supervise outside contractors / suppliers as required.
- Contribute to the development and management of processes and testing necessary to ensure environmental and safety regulatory compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. 5 years previous experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, engineering or management position.
- Experience with development and implementation of RCM and/or TPM systems.
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Proficient with engineering software tools (MS Project & AutoCAD).
- Experience with CMMS Systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- Product development process experience (Stage Gate).
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience with wood and wood coating products and processes executed in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
