Summary Section

As part of the electrical engineering team you will be involved in the design of electrical systems for the oil and gas and/or power including renewable energies industries. This may be a conceptual study or front-end engineering design (FEED) or a design execution involving, the procurement of all equipment and detailed drawings for the construction and commissioning of an entire facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare load list, load calculations, cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations including preparation of cable schedules and interconnection diagrams
  • Schedule, plan and execute electrical engineering / design activities as per project requirements
  • Ensuring that HSE requirements are understood and implemented by the team in various design activities
  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
  • Prepare Material Requisition for various electrical items like Transformers, HV/MV/LV Switchgears, UPS, Cables, Electrical Bulks, AC/DC UPS etc, perform offer evaluation, TBE, vendor drawing review, attending FAT for all major electrical equipment / packages
  • Technical review of mechanical packages including offer review, TBE, VDR and coordination for engineering interfaces
  • Ability to perform / review complex engineering calculations including Power System Studies using ETAP/SKM
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Understand and implement relevant HSE aspects while performing assigned tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Full Time) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas / industrial projects
  • Experience as lead managing medium / large projects with at least 10 Engineers/designers
  • Ability to read and understand overall power distribution scheme and SLDs
  • Good knowledge of electrical equipment like MV/LV Switchgears, transformers, UPS etc.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications specifically: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working in multi-cultural environment
  • Working experience in ETAP / SPEL
