About the role
Generic Job Description (not Job Level specific):
- The PC board design Engineer / Architect assists engineers in the design and development of complex and detailed layouts of printed circuit boards.
- Collaborates in developing state-of-the-art designs of new or modified, high-density, printed circuit boards.
- Establishes design standards and configurations.
- Works from preliminary schematics, part lists and basic description of the board function, configuration and arrangement as defined by engineering.
- Trains drafters in the completion of drawings and specifications.
- May perform the checking of design layouts and detailed drawings.
Requirements
1. Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications, or a related field
- Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design and analysis
2. Technical Skills
- Familiar with the full hardware development process (Design → Verification → Validation)
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- High-speed signal design (Signal Integrity)
- Power design (Power Integrity / PMIC)
- PCB layout and SI/PI analysis
- Semiconductor testing or ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) architecture
- Proficient with related design and simulation tools (e.g., Cadence, Allegro, ADS, HFSS)
3. System Integration & Testing
- Strong hardware debugging and issue analysis skills
- System integration experience is a plus
4. Language Skills
- Intermediate or above proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
- Ability to communicate effectively in a global team environment
5. Work Experience
- Typically 5–10+ years of relevant experience (for senior or principal roles)
- Experience in semiconductor, consumer electronics, or server hardware industries is preferred
6. Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Good teamwork and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
