JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

When a vacancy occurs, WPI Athletics will seek part-time assistant coaches for various varsity sport teams. Interested candidates must complete the appropriate applicant information online. The department will directly contact those applicants who are under strong consideration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary duty is to assist the head coach in providing leadership and direction for all aspects of the varsity sport program. This includes fostering a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, as well as WPI university policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining positive public relations for the program, the department, and WPI, while serving as a role model for student-athletes both in and out of competition. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the preparation of student-athletes for competition and supporting an educational environment that promotes the development of the whole student-athlete.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

Compensation: $500 – $7,000 per season

This posting covers coaching positions across WPI's entire Club Sports program, resulting in a broad compensation range. Pay is determined by the specific responsibilities of the sport and the coach’s role with the team. This is an excellent opportunity to mentor WPI student-athletes while staying connected to the sport you love.
