GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing endoscopic procedures. Collaborates with the patient and physician to provide care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts pre-procedural assessment and data collection.
Participates in the care of patients undergoing GI procedures.
Provides proper documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards and requirements.
Maintains a safe environment for patients from assessment through to the recovery period.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
CPR certification
1 year nursing experience or previous GI experience required if less than one year nursing
Preferred
1 year critical care experience
Minimum 2 years endoscopy experience
