A day in the life
As the Senior Vice President (SVP), Data Center Business Operations you will work directly with the Global Head of Data Centers to lead the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the data center platform. This executive will serve as a key liaison with third-party capital partners, help lead day-to-day operations, ensure the integrity and accuracy of data and reporting, and provide strategic guidance to drive growth, scalability, value creation, and operational excellence across the global portfolio. The SVP will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to align execution with long-term business objectives while maintaining best-in-class governance, transparency, and performance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Capital Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary relationship manager for internal fund management teams, third-party capital partners, joint venture partners, and strategic investors.
- Oversee governance, reporting, and communication frameworks to ensure alignment, transparency, and trust.
- Lead partner reviews, investment committee materials, and performance updates.
Operational Leadership
- Provide executive oversight of day-to-day data center business operations, including procurement, development, stabilization, and ongoing asset management.
- Ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and adherence to lease, service level, safety, and compliance standards.
- Partner with internal operations, transactions, development, engineering, and asset management teams to optimize performance across the platform.
Data Integrity & Reporting
- Establish and maintain robust data governance, controls, and reporting processes across the data center portfolio.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of operational, financial, and performance data provided to internal leadership and capital partners.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and performance optimization.
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Provide strategic guidance on platform growth, hiring decisions, KPIs, capital allocation, and long-term portfolio strategy.
- Evaluate new investment opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
- Contribute to enterprise-level strategy, business planning, and innovation initiatives related to data centers.
Cross-Functional & People Leadership
- Collaborate closely with finance, legal, risk, sustainability, IT, and development teams to ensure aligned execution.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Building blocks for success:
Required:
- 12+ years of experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, real assets, or related institutional investment platforms.
- Demonstrated experience working with third-party capital partners, joint ventures, or institutional investors.
- Strong operational leadership background with experience overseeing complex, large-scale assets or platforms.
- Deep understanding of data governance, reporting, and performance management.
- Proven ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels in a fast-growing environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
Hiring Salary Range of: $255,000 - $325,000 . Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
