Staff Data Analyst, Engineering Analytics
Location: Limerick, Ireland
Overview
As a Staff Data Analyst on the Engineering Enablement team, you will own the development and evolution of analytics dashboards that surface insights on product development and engineering tool usage. These dashboards synthesize large amounts of engineering data from various sources and are broadly used by both engineering teams and executive leadership. You will rely on sound judgment, curiosity, and strong communication skills to translate ambiguous engineering workflows into well-defined metrics and clear, meaningful reports.
Responsibilities
1. Engage directly with engineering domain teams (design, verification, IP, AI etc.) to understand workflows, identify high-value data sources, and define key telemetry and productivity metrics.
2. Define data schemas, grain, and transformation logic needed for each data source, and communicate those requirements clearly to the Central Data team for implementation.
3. Design and maintain a Power BI semantic model (data model, relationships, DAX measures) that serves as a shared analytical foundation across multiple thin reports.
4. Build, publish, and iterate on Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver clear insights to engineering managers and leadership.
5. Collaborate with Central Data team to scope, prioritize, and validate pipeline work; serve as the functional owner of data correctness and metric definitions.
6. Document metric definitions, data lineage, and report logic to ensure institutional knowledge is durable and auditable.
7. Identify opportunities to expand impact — new data sources, new engineering personas, new use cases — and drive those through requirements definition and delivery.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Expert-level skills in Power BI or similar tool (Qlikview, Tableau, DataStudio, etc.), including data modeling, DAX, report design, workspace/deployment pipeline management.
Strong SQL skills; ability to write and review transformation logic even when not directly authoring pipelines.
Demonstrated experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to define metrics and translate domain knowledge into data requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting findings and influencing priorities with engineering and executive leadership.
Experience owning an analytics product end-to-end — from requirements through delivery and ongoing maintenance.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
Familiarity with consuming data from Snowflake, dbt, or similar modern data stack components.
Certifications in Power BI or related Microsoft data tools.
Experience with Python for data validation, exploration, or lightweight transformation.
Experience in the semiconductor industry or familiarity with EDA tools and flows.
