Job Description:
The Machine Shop Operator is responsible for supporting daily production activities within the machine shop. This includes operating machinery, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and supporting logistical and housekeeping duties to ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Essential Functions:
- Operate and maintain multiple machines within the cell.
- Utilize and understand inspection tools effectively.
- Adhere to set quality standards including quality documentation
- Make wear adjustment offsets and replace consumable tooling.
- Initial troubleshooting of machine faults.
- Gather tooling for next jobs and other external changeover tasks
- Work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Other work duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a machine shop or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, part drawings, and safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with computers, including internet browsers, email communication, printing, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a team player and self-starter with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to be trained on various equipment and processes.
- Must be able to stand for the entire shift and have the ability to lift 50 pounds continuously
