Job Description

SUMMARY

As a Behavioral Health Tech I, your ability to anticipate needs, communicate effectively and demonstrated compassion greatly assists in the successful treatment and rehabilitation of all patients.

DEPARTMENT: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred.
  • 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct care services to patient on an individual and group basis, to include but not limited to activities of daily living, social, and psychiatric rehabilitation per treatment plan, as directed by Unit Leadership.
  • Participates in the development of a comprehensive treatment plan sharing patient’s needs and wants as communicated by patient directly through patient surveys, collaterals, and treatment team.
  • Documents and communicates patient response to treatment effectively and accurately and in a timely manner according to Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides comprehensive care to patients in a professional and caring manner and is able to take appropriate actions and communicate findings to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Documents and communicates patient response to treatment effectively and accurately and in a timely manner according to Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Intercedes on behalf of customer to ensure they have access to required services.
  • Participates in the peer review process and utilizes quality improvement techniques to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Participates as a member of multidisciplinary team by providing feedback, maintain professional relationships, providing program and patient specific feedback and recommendations.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings and workshops.
  • Understands and practices established RGHS policies, procedures, goals, standards of care, quality improvement activities, safety, and environmental and infection control.

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
