Program Director - Graduate Medical Education (GME) - Bernadine Center
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Internal Medicine Program Director, in partnership with the Sponsoring Institution, provides a culture of professionalism that supports patient safety and personal responsibility. The program director serves as a resident advocate and serves as role model of professionalism; design and conduct a program in a fashion consistent with the needs of the community, the Mission of Mercy Health, and the mission of the program.
Essential Job Functions
Program administration and operations.
Clinical teaching and scholarly activity.
Resident recruitment and selection.
Comply with all Institutional Requirements and policies and procedures.
Comply with ACGME and Review Committee policies and procedures.
Resident evaluation and promotion.
Supervision and monitoring residency performance during on service and off service rotations.
Oversight of faculty teaching residents.
Approval of local director at each participating.
Recruit additional clinician educator/researchers.
Demonstration of ongoing scholarly activity as defined by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), including but not limited to regional and national presentations, articles, book chapters, research, performance improvement projects, and patient safety projects.
Must remain knowledgeable of and comply with all ACGME accreditation requirements, which may require continuous learning.

Licensing/Certification
- Must be specialty board certified through the American Board of Medical Specialties, Ohio licensure
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) (required)
Work Experience
- 3 years of documented educational and/ or administrative experience (required)
