About the role
What you will do
This role oversees end-to-end sourcing activities for direct materials supporting new and recently launched products. You will lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and cost management while partnering closely with engineering, research and development, and program teams across regions. The scope includes strategic sourcing, financial performance management, and supplier enablement across multiple product life cycle stages.
Lead supplier selection and sourcing activities for new product development and product transfer initiatives across multiple businesses and geographies.
Negotiate supplier agreements covering cost, payment terms, service levels, lead times, quality requirements, and escalation processes.
Manage Purchase Price Variance performance for an assigned supplier portfolio, including standard cost updates, spend tracking, and price forecasting.
Execute competitive sourcing events, including supplier quotations, cost analysis, selection, and award management.
Establish and enforce supplier contracts and commercial agreements in alignment with company policies.
Forecast annual supplier spend and savings and ensure cost standards are defined for the operating budget.
Maintain supplier and item master data accuracy within enterprise resource planning systems.
Partner with research and development, product transfer, and program teams to identify sourcing needs and qualify suppliers for materials and services, including electrical components, plastics, metals, chemicals, packaging, and external manufacturing.
What you will need
Required
Bachelor’s degree in supply management, business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in supply management, strategic sourcing, supplier development, or related areas, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience in supplier transfer and qualification projects
Bilingual English–Spanish (English level B2 or higher).
Preferred
Experience managing standard cost, purchase price variance performance, and cost forecasting.
Intermediate experience using business intelligence tools and enterprise resource planning systems (for example: SAP or JD Edwards).
Experience supporting sourcing activities across multiple product categories or regions.
