THE JOB:
As a Manager of Convention & Banquets at Mandalay Bay, you will lead the execution of large-scale events and ensure seamless operations across banquet and convention spaces. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by overseeing set-up, maintaining high service standards, and supporting a team dedicated to bringing events to life. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will drive operational excellence, ensure every detail is executed with precision, and contribute to creating memorable experiences for guests at one of Las Vegas’ premier convention destinations. All duties are performed in accordance with MGM Resorts standards.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Event Setup & Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate event space setups based on BEOs and client needs, coordinating with Event Managers, Meeting Planners, banquet captains, AV teams, and other departments
- Team Supervision & Compliance: Oversee daily activities of banquet staff, manage scheduling, staffing, and labor compliance per union (CBA) guidelines, and support training, development, and performance documentation
- Operational Oversight: Conduct daily walk-throughs to identify issues, maintain cleanliness and organization of event-related areas, and monitor setup equipment and inventory
- Budget & Labor Management: Monitor staffing levels and labor costs to align with budgets, ensure timely payroll submission, and resolve discrepancies or staffing issues efficiently
- Client Experience & Problem Solving: Act as the main contact during events for troubleshooting setup concerns, suggest creative layout improvements, and maintain detailed records for accountability and service quality
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Is 21+ years of age
- Has 2+ years of Prior relevant experience in Banquets, Catering & Convention Management
