Participate in developing investment recommendations for portfolio manages relating to existing and potential investments, through developing and amending quantitative models to analyze and forecast market developments, estimating risks, identifying factors influencing investment decisions, and quantifying potential risks and rewards.

Job Description

This role is a part of the Investment Strategy Group and is chiefly responsible for supporting the PCG CIO and Investment Strategy Committee members in the development of quantitative and qualitative research to build the "CIO View" for the Financial Advisors/Client Advisors. This role will also assist in the creation and promotion of investment strategy resources, including the CIO suite of materials, to convey the views of the Investment Strategy Committee and the "CIO View". This role will also assist in the development of ad hoc presentations for the Chief Investment Officer to participate at conferences and other client related events. In addition to assisting the committee, the Investment Analyst will coordinate with marketing and compliance to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of Investment Strategy materials as well as the delivery of materials to advisors and clients with a focus on process and improvement. Finally, this role allows for the creation and development of proprietary Investment Strategy research such as white papers and presentations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, updating, and distribution of IS publications and presentations, including the CIO Suite of materials, by gathering and analyzing data, and creating infographics

  • Assist in the development of timely IS materials and liaison with Marketing and Compliance to distribute to all relevant channels in order to maximize reach of research

  • Research and develop relevant Investment Strategy materials such as white papers and presentations

  • Research and implement new technologies and media outlets to improve current processes and increase social media reach

  • Support advisor and branch professional education by participating in AMP events, branch professional showcases, etc.

  • Assist advisors with ad hoc questions and inquiries mainly through the Investment Strategy inbox, email, and telephone

  • Assist in the promotion and maintenance of IS Materials on RJnet, RJ.com and the IS email distribution list

Knowledge of

  • Research tools such as FactSet and Bloomberg

  • Graphic design tools such as InDesign and Photoshop

  • Social media outlets such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

  • Company’s working structure, policies, mission, strategies, and compliance guidelines

  • Economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the overall investment industry

  • Microsoft Office

Skill in

  • Strong work ethic, commitment to deadlines and strong attention to details

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Strong communication skill set, particularly intrapersonal communication

  • Preparing clear, effective and professional presentations

  • Identifies the needs of advisors and clients through effective questioning and listening techniques

Ability to

  • Work under minimal supervision to ensure the completion and accuracy of projects in a deadline-driven environment

  • Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Education/Previous Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the financial services industry

  • OR ~

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training as approved by Human Resources.

Licenses/Certifications

  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Economics, Bachelor’s: Finance

Certifications

Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) - Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
