As a Technical Operations Leader – Europe Third Party within our External Manufacturing & Supply (EMS) Small Molecules Europe organisation, you’ll lead new API sourcing and drug product technology transfer initiatives that secure the quality, reliability, and continuity of our General Medicines portfolio. You’ll work closely with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), internal experts, and cross‑functional teams to ensure streamlined, compliant, and future‑ready technical operations.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage API sourcing, selection, and qualification projects with external partners.

  • Lead cross‑functional technology transfer teams, maintaining full technical ownership throughout the lifecycle.

  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to routine operations teams and external partners.

  • Develop and execute process validation strategies, ensuring regulatory and quality compliance.

  • Manage and consolidate project timelines, budgets, and resource planning.

  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, standardisation, and systematic lessons learned.

  • Ensure strong partnership, communication, and alignment with internal stakeholders and CMOs.

About you

Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in at least one of the following fields:
    analytical sciences, chemistry, technology transfer, process engineering, or CMC development

  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams in an international, matrixed environment

Soft & technical skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Broad understanding of scientific, technical, quality, regulatory, and commercial aspects of pharmaceutical operations

  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and drive decision‑making across diverse teams

Education

  • Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Process Engineering

Languages

  • Fluency in English

  • French is an asset
