Senior Data Scientist-Agentic AI
Confirmed live in the last 24 hours
S&P Global
Job Description
About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
11The Team:
- The Agentic AI team is a execution-focused group driving the adoption and scaling of Gemini Enterprise and agentic AI capabilities across S&P Global. We partner with engineering, data, research, product, and operations teams to translate real business workflows into production-grade agentic applications. We build reusable patterns, reference architectures, and enablement assets that help teams deliver safely, reliably, and at scale—using Gemini models, the Gemini Agent Platform, out-of-the-box agents, enterprise connectors, evaluation/observability tooling, and governance controls.
The Impact:
- As a Senior Engineer, Agentic AI, you will design, build, and deploy Gemini-powered agentic solutions that improve how S&P Global operates—accelerating research workflows, enhancing data operations, and enabling smarter decision-making across the enterprise. You will help deliver secure, governed, and observable agentic systems by implementing robust integration patterns, evaluation baselines, and operational controls. Your work will directly influence adoption by creating repeatable blueprints and raising the engineering standard for agentic solutions across teams.
What’s in it for you:
- Build production-grade agentic AI solutions using modern LLM/agent frameworks and Google Cloud’s AI stack.
- Work end-to-end, from workflow discovery and technical design through build, launch, and iteration based on real usage signals.
- Develop deep expertise in Gemini Enterprise, including platform capabilities, connectors, governance, and evaluation/observability practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes (efficiency, quality, throughput, risk reduction).
- Help establish reusable components, reference architectures, and internal best practices that scale adoption across the organization.
- Operate in a highly collaborative environment with strong alignment to responsible AI, security, and governance expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Agentic Solution Design & Development
- Build and deploy Gemini-powered agentic applications using Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Agent Development Kit (ADK), and Lang frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) for orchestration.
- Design multi-step, context-aware agent workflows, including memory, grounding, tool use, connectors, decision logic, and human-in-the-loop escalation when required.
- Translate business workflows into implementable agent architectures and deliver working solutions that integrate with S&P Global systems.
- Integrate agents with internal platforms and services (data platforms, APIs, enterprise apps, and operational workflows) using approved enterprise integration patterns.
- Design and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based integrations (or similar patterns) to enable secure and governed interoperability between agents and internal tools/services.
- Prototype and productionize Agent-to-Agent (A2A) patterns for collaborative multi-agent workflows, including orchestration, coordination, and shared context handling.
- Create reusable assets: agent blueprints, starter templates, prompt/context patterns, connector wrappers, evaluation harnesses, and operational runbooks.
- Gemini Enterprise Enablement
- Leverage the full Gemini Enterprise stack (models, agent platform, OOTB agents, connectors, governance controls, evaluations/observability) to deliver enterprise-grade implementations.
- Contribute to enablement materials such as demos, reference implementations, starter kits, best-practice guides, and internal documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and business teams adopting agentic capabilities, helping them avoid common failure modes and build safely.
- Observability, Safety & Governance
- Implement evaluation and observability practices for agent behavior, including monitoring, telemetry, performance baselines, cost/latency tracking, regression testing, drift detection, and safety checks.
- Establish observability patterns for multi-agent systems, including behavior tracing, A2A dependency visibility, and tool-call auditability.
- Ensure solutions align with internal governance, security requirements, and responsible AI practices (e.g., access controls, data handling, logging, policy-based tool usage).
- Partner with governance and platform stakeholders to help define thresholds, guardrails, and operating practices.
- We’re Looking For:
- An individual with a proven track record of leading large-scale programs from discovery to execution. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional attention to detail, a strong desire to learn and grow, critical thinking, and robust problem-solving skills. This role demands a commitment to enterprise-wide collaboration and the ability to lead initiatives that deliver impactful results for the broader organization.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering and/or AI/ML engineering, with strong hands-on delivery in LLMs, generative AI, or applied ML.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, including building prototypes and production-ready AI applications.
- Experience with Google Cloud AI/ML capabilities, including Vertex AI (model deployment, embeddings, pipelines, and related services).
- Hands-on experience building agentic workflows using ADK and Lang frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) or comparable agent orchestration tooling.
- Strong understanding of LLM system design: prompt engineering, context engineering, RAG architectures, memory design, grounding, and tool calling.
- Experience integrating LLM systems with enterprise tools/services using MCP or similar interoperability and tool-integration patterns.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation and observability practices: monitoring, regression baselines, drift detection, cost/latency analysis, safety checks, and behavioral tracing.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with ability to translate business workflows into technical designs and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Gemini Enterprise ecosystem, including Gemini models, agent platform capabilities, out-of-the-box agents, enterprise connectors, and governance controls.
- Experience implementing multi-agent systems, including A2A coordination patterns and workflow orchestration strategies.
- Experience designing production-grade RAG systems (indexing strategies, retrieval tuning, grounding approaches, citation/traceability patterns).
- Experience with secure enterprise integration patterns (authentication/authorization, secrets management, auditing/logging, data access controls).
- Proven track record of delivering AI/Agentic AI solutions in regulated or governance-heavy enterprise environments.
- Experience contributing to internal platforms/accelerators (shared libraries, templates, reference architectures) that drive adoption at scale.
