About the role
The Lead Product Quality & Improvement Engineer drives the resolution of complex product and
engineering issues through structured root cause analysis and the application of the 8D
methodology.
The role works closely with systems, software, hardware, testing and project teams to improve
product quality, strengthen engineering maturity and drive continuous improvement across the
organization. In addition to supporting critical issue resolution, the position plays a key role in
identifying systemic weaknesses, implementing lessons learned and advancing engineering best
practices.
This position combines strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross
functional teams and drive sustainable improvements.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
• Lead complex root cause investigations using 8D and structured problem-solving methods (e.g. FTA). • Facilitate cross-functional teams in the resolution of customer and internally identified product issues.
• Identify recurring quality trends and define improvement initiatives.
• Drive implementation of lessons learned and preventive actions across projects.
• Support engineering teams in improving product robustness, development quality and process compliance.
• Analyze quality and defect data to identify systemic issues and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the continuous development of engineering methods and best practices.
• Support customer communication related to critical product issues and corrective actions.
• Provide coaching and training on problem-solving and product quality methodologies.
• Participate in defect triage activities for high-priority issues.
Job Requirements And Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with strong experience in the automotive industry, preferably in electric and electronic products.
• Good vehicle-level knowledge is considered an advantage.
• Broad technical understanding across hardware, software, and systems engineering environments.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of systems, software or hardware development processes.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis or similar approaches.
• Ability to drive technical discussions across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong communication and facilitation
• Experience working within engineering V-cycle development processes.
• Experience with ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity).
• Experience in electric vehicle, power electronics or embedded software development.
• Experience with Polarion, JIRA, or comparable agile planning and engineering tools is considered an advantage.
