Job Description
The AI & Machine Learning team at Lucid is dedicated to designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI systems that enhance the safety, intelligence, and sustainability of our luxury electric vehicles. Our cars generate an extraordinary breadth of high-resolution data—from time-series signals to sensor fusion outputs—and transforming this data into actionable intelligence is both a complex challenge and a tremendous opportunity.
As a Data Scientist on our AI and Machine Learning team, you will build enterprise-scale generative AI and predictive modeling solutions that power engineering insights, improve vehicle performance, elevate the customer experience, and unlock new efficiencies across manufacturing, engineering, sales, and service. You will help define Lucid’s GenAI technology roadmap and play a key role in influencing AI strategy across the company.
You Will:
- Develop and apply state-of-the-art Generative AI, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to large-scale, high-dimensional vehicle and enterprise datasets.
- Drive predictive analytics and anomaly-detection models using billions of time-series data points from our global fleet.
- Shape analytical direction and partner closely with Engineering to influence design decisions with high-quality data science insights.
- Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations that drive product, engineering, and business outcomes.
- Extract insights from broad, ambiguous problem statements—framing challenges, determining the right analytical approach, and delivering measurable impact.
- Adapt machine learning, data mining, and signal-processing algorithms to real-world applications across engineering, and operations.
- Communicate complex findings clearly through quantitative storytelling, dashboards, and presentations.
- Engage cross-functionally to structure and prioritize analytical initiatives that address Lucid’s most critical manufacturing and product challenges.
You Bring:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or related STEM discipline.
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Scientist solving highly complex problems in fast-paced, data-rich environments.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or C/C++ with 3+ years in a programming-intensive role.
- Proven experience with LangGraph/LangChain or equivalent orchestration platforms, and advanced expertise in prompt engineering and building scalable RAG systems.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas such as:
- GenAI, Reinforcement Learning, Fine-tuning and RAG systems
- Time-series modeling & signal processing
- Anomaly detection
- Classical ML methods
- Deep learning & CNNs
- NLP, text mining, sentiment analysis
- Information retrieval
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Caffe, MXNet, etc.).
- Demonstrated success developing and deploying production-grade ML or anomaly-detection systems using Python, C/C++, Java, or big-data platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
