Corporate Counsel, Global Subsidiaries

Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Global Subsidiaries Legal team and to lead our work in the Americas. The candidate must have a strong corporate law, corporate governance, and compliance background and be able to supervise legal professionals responsible for forming and maintaining Amazon's subsidiaries in the Americas. The candidate must be able to research and advise on corporate law issues in multiple jurisdictions, execute on complex corporate restructuring projects, and work effectively with outside counsel in foreign jurisdictions. The candidate must have experience with the use and building of AI tools for application in their day-to-day work.

Basic Qualifications

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of Corporate Law experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with the formation and governance of corporate entities as well as corporate restructuring projects in multiple jurisdictions
- A proven ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working with other cross-functional teams and often in ambiguous environments
- Experience with the use and building of AI tools for application in day-to-day work
- Experience managing legal professionals
- Experience with M&A transactions and investments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Sound and practical business judgment, as well as common sense
- English (Fluent)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
