Technical Project Manager, Power Electronics
We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager for Power Electronics, to join the Powertrain Programs team. This position requires an experienced professional with a proven track record of excellent project management achievements. The candidate must have a strong understanding of project management principles, with a proven track record of project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of power electronics, PCBA development and industrialization / mass production.
We are seeking an individual with strong organizational capabilities and the ability to influence and coordinate with engineering teams and other key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate would be able to:
· Communicate effectively to all stakeholders and all levels within the organization.
· Understand and articulate relevant program milestones, to project teams as well as customers.
· Identify project risks and critical issues – which are promptly identified and escalated to senior management, alongside a concise action plan.
· Take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution.
· Exhibit a can-do attitude and approaches work with vigor and determination.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for efficient progression within a fast-paced and complex work environment.
Responsibilities:
· Lead a cross-functional project team, in partnership with a technical lead, to deliver Power Electronics sub-assemblies and PCBAs to internal Powertrain customers.
· Project manage the engineering development process for Power Electronic products and PCBAs, including developing and maintaining the product development timelines, resource and budget requirements.
· Manage cross-functional project teams focusing on power electronics design and manufacturing processes
· Drive the engineering activities at the power electronics sub-assembly and PCBA level in accordance with the development timeline; including design requirements, design release, prototyping, engineering testing, process development, DV & PV testing, APQP, etc.
· Drive key decisions (technical, project timing, supplier decisions, change management, manufacturability etc.) to ensure on-time delivery.
· Take ownership and drive resolution of any blockers to successful delivery of Power Electronics sub-assemblies and PCBAs, including:
o Technical issues during development or series production - work with responsible engineers to define and drive actions to resolve, monitor and report status to management teams.
o Supplier issues - monitor and escalate appropriately with supply chain and engineering teams for effective resolutions.
o Organizational issues - identify gaps in resources, processes or roles/responsibilities and escalate appropriately with management teams.
o Manufacturing issues – understand basic principles of problem solving techniques to drive the team towards data driven decision making for interim / permanent corrective actions.
