COMMUNICATIONS

What We Do

The Epic Communications team advances the company’s narrative and represents Epic products and the company vision to external and internal audiences globally. We create positive relationships and engagement strategies with a wide range of audiences, including media, investors, influencers, and policymakers.

What You'll Do

We’re seeking a Social Media Director to help lead the strategy, innovation, and global growth of Epic’s social media ecosystem. This leader will play a critical role in defining Epic’s social vision across franchises and brands, driving engagement, community connection, and creative excellence. You will be a key contributor to a multidisciplinary team spanning strategy, creative, content, community, and analytics—guiding how Epic shows up across every major platform. You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Communications, Creative, Product, and Game Development teams to ensure our social storytelling reflects the spirit of Epic and resonates with audiences around the world.

In this role, you will

  • Help define and lead the global social media strategy for Epic Games, aligning content, community, and campaigns across key franchises and corporate brands
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate company priorities into breakthrough social storytelling and audience engagement strategies
  • Drive innovation in content formats and platform strategies, ensuring Epic’s presence stays ahead of evolving trends and emerging technologies
  • Champion a culture of experimentation, empowering teams to explore new approaches to creator partnerships, live content, and community interaction
  • Integrate data and insights into creative decision-making, ensuring that storytelling and engagement efforts are both impactful and measurable
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with paid media, influencer, and communications teams to orchestrate cohesive campaign ecosystems and to guide platform relationships with key partners (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, Meta, X, Reddit, Twitch) to drive innovation and co-marketing opportunities
  • Serve as an industry thought leader, representing Epic’s social voice internally and externally—advocating for audience-first thinking and authentic brand connection, and oversee governance, tone, and consistency of Epic’s brand voice across all franchises and global regions.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in social media and/or digital content, including at least 5 years managing large-scale global programs
  • Proven success developing and executing global social media strategies for major entertainment, gaming, or consumer brands
  • Deep understanding of platform ecosystems, audience behavior, and emerging media formats
  • Track record of mentoring high-performing teams across creative, strategy, and analytics functions
  • Strong creative instincts paired with data-driven judgment—you inspire bold ideas and know how to measure their impact
  • Experience collaborating at the executive level, influencing company-wide marketing and communications priorities
  • Global perspective and cultural fluency; experience developing content strategies for diverse, international audiences
  • Familiarity with tools like Sprout, Emplifi, Radarly, ListenFirst, and social analytics suites
