About the role

To strengthen our Commercial team in Vienna, Austria, we are currently hiring a 

 

Head of Marketing (m/f/x) 

(Fulltime / permanent / Location: Vienna) 

 

 

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Marketing to lead our marketing organization in Austria. In this key leadership position, you will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy across our portfolio, driving brand performance, leading product launches, and building a high-performing customer-centric marketing team. 

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping commercial success across retail and hospital channels while ensuring compliance, innovation, and strong cross-functional collaboration. 

 

The Role 

 

  • Develop and implement the marketing strategy for the full product portfolio across retail and hospital channels. 

  • Lead the creation and execution of strategic and operational brand plans. 

  • Drive portfolio growth and achieve budget and sales targets. 

  • Monitor market developments, customer needs, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and risks. 

  • Lead brand strategy development and execution. 

  • Plan and successfully execute product launches. 

  • Ensure excellence in brand planning and implementation across all brands. 

  • Collaborate closely with global brand teams to align local and global priorities. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional societies, and other key stakeholders. 

  • Ensure customer and patient insights are embedded in all marketing initiatives. 

  • Develop engagement strategies that strengthen long-term partnerships and brand advocacy. 

  • Drive and advance the omnichannel strategy. 

  • Ensure impactful and insight-driven customer engagement across all channels. 

  • Support the field force with relevant tools, campaigns, and capabilities. 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of six marketing and omnichannel professionals. 

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. 

  • Partner closely with Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and other key functions to ensure aligned strategic planning and execution. 

  • Manage marketing budgets and resources effectively. 

  • Generate actionable insights and provide meaningful performance reporting to leadership. 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. 

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across marketing activities. 

 

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or broader life sciences industry. 

  • Proven track record in strategic and operational marketing planning for General Practice and/or hospital-focused products. 

  • Demonstrated success working closely with customer-facing teams and Medical Affairs organizations. 

  • Strong understanding of healthcare customer engagement and omnichannel marketing approaches. 

  • Experience developing insight-driven customer engagement strategies. 

  • Knowledge of the local healthcare, legal, and regulatory environment. 

  • Strong project management skills. 

  • A good level of German and professional-level English communication skills, both written and spoken. 

  • Willingness to travel as required. 

 

Reporting Relationship: 

  • Role reports to the General Manager Austria 

  • Reporting to this role: 4 Brand Manager, 1 Omnichannel Manager 

 

What we offer 

  • The annual gross salary for this position starts at €110,000 according to the applicable collective agreement. We offer market-competitive compensation and are prepared to provide significant overpayment depending on qualifications and experience
