Global Finance Services (GFS), one of the pillars of Sanofi’s Business Operations organization, is setting up a Global Hub in Hyderabad to provide various Finance services.

The Team Lead - Treasury Accounting reports to Head of Global Treasury Accounting and will be responsible to manage team and will be responsible for delivery of specific sub-process of Cash Accounting. He / She works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), other BO departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.

As Team Lead – Cash Accounting within our Account to Report, you’ll be working in line to Deliver treasury/cash accounting services to the Group from Hyderabad. This will include bank reconciliations, clearing of transitory accounts etc. and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Main responsibilities:           

 

  • Operation: Deliver treasury accounting services to SBS. Reconcile A2R GL transit accounts, book manual postings to clear them. Perform bank reconciliations and book related adjustments. Book transactions relating to financial instruments, debts, and loans. Calculate Forex net positions. Manage month end closure relating to treasury accounting and prepare related reporting

  • Contribute to business reviews. Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements

  • Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs. Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope

  • Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to treasury accounting activities. Pro-actively anticipate operational issues and coach the team

  • Continuous improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities. Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition

  • Business engagement: Set up Operations review with In-Country A2R team. Structured regular touchpoint with neighboring functions once a month to cover the MEC delivery

  • People management: The role involves engaging team with daily connects, alternatively mentoring and coaching. Monitoring employee engagement to ensure high‑quality output and effective resource utilization. The position is responsible for building strong process backups to manage exigent scenarios, assessing team capabilities, and driving individual development plans (IDPs) while encouraging participation in Stretch assignments and organized trainings. The role also supports employees through their learning and process‑development journey, fosters a healthy work–life balance, and promotes an inclusive environment that keeps the team connected and motivated. Additionally, the role focuses on developing a strong second‑in‑line to ensure continuity and support for key activities

About you

  • Experience: First hands on experience in a GL accounting role.

  • Functional: Understanding of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential)

  • Broad understanding of GL Accounting, monthly closure and reporting activities, bank reconciliation process (essential)

  • Good business acumen (advantageous)

  • Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (advantageous)

  • Technical: Computer literate and familiar with accounting applications, as e.g. SAP FICO (advantageous)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel (essential)

  • Interpersonal: Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner (essential)

  • Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end to end mindset (essential)

  • Good communication skills (advantageous)

  • Attentive to customer needs and feedback (advantageous)

  • Leadership: Organized and structured to execute tasks as per deadlines (essential)

  • Attentive to detail and works with precision (advantageous)

  • Action oriented, delivery driven, change agent (advantageous)

  • Education: Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Languages: Fluent in English (essential)
