The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a sales representative in the Sterility Assurance team, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for sterilization assurance products to meet individual and team sales targets.
  • Tailor regional and account-specific strategies based on product lifecycle stages, defending and expanding core product lines against competitors.
  • Drive product adoption and retention within GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital channel management team to achieve growth targets and execute distributor engagement plans.
  • Partner with other sales groups and departments to contribute to overall branch and division growth.

Customer Engagement & Education

  • Provide product recommendations based on up-to-date clinical evidences to physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct in-service training and demonstrations to ensure proper product usage and understanding.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including central supply departments, sterilization service providers, operating room, infection control team, and administrative teams involved in supply chain management.
  • Plan and implement customer events such as in-person / web meetings, workshops, and seminars within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and Foster relationship with local KOLs in the assigned territory and leverage to Peer-to-Peer educational dissemination.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with clinical specialists to support product adoption through clinical training and education.
  • Manage sales activities and pipeline effectively, regularly reviewing performance metrics to accelerate sales velocity and improve conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with NPWT and Patient Management teams to strengthen relationships with healthcare institutions and distributors.
  • Coordinate with related internal stakeholders (Customer Support, Channel Management team, Key Account Management team, Sales Executives, Marketing, Quality, Supply department, etc.) to optimize organizational performance.

As a dedicated sales representative for our flagship sterilization assurance product portfolio within the Patient Preparation Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in the acute care sector. Your responsibilities will include promoting product adoption, strengthening clinical sales activities, and ensuring sustained product usage through strategic collaboration with partner distributors.

You will also work closely with the NPWT and Patient Management teams to enhance overall market share within hospital settings. This position reports directly to the Sterilization Dedicated Sales Group Leader and will be based in the Medical Solutions Division Sales Department.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, including at least 3 years in the medical device industry.
  • Experience in hospital sterilization sales is preferred.
  • CSSD professional certification (i.e. 1st / 2nd grade CSS engineer certified by JSMI : Japanese Society of Medical Instrumentation) is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with a proven ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders (e.g., central supply, utilities, nursing management).
  • Demonstrated success in developing mutually beneficial partnerships with distributors.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) for pipeline and customer relationship management.
  • Basic English proficiency (used in internal documentation and processes).
  • Valid standard driver’s license.

Work location: Tokyo, Japan

Hybrid (Onsite and Remote): Eligible

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
