Hours of Operation

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (flexible based on patient volume)

Job Summary

The Radiation Therapy Department is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our highly specialized oncology care team. This department provides services to adult and geriatric patients undergoing treatment for cancer and select non‑malignant conditions, including benign brain tumors.

As an RN II, you will play a vital role in supporting complex patient care throughout the radiation therapy journey—from consultation through treatment completion. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and participate in shared governance, quality initiatives, and unit‑based improvements. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safe, compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Our department delivers advanced radiation treatment using cutting‑edge technologies designed for precision and safety. Patients may receive treatment for cancer diagnoses or specialized non‑malignant conditions.

  • Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH)
  • Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
  • Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
  • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
  • Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
  • High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy
  • Low Dose Rate (LDR) Brachytherapy

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current Georgia RN license
  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience or meets RN I performance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: National specialty certification (oncology or radiation preferred)
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience: One year of experience oncology/radiation preferred
  • Other: Membership in a professional nursing organization

  • Delivers safe, efficient, population‑specific care to adult and geriatric patients
  • Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork with colleagues, patients, and families
  • Applies evidence‑based practice and sound critical thinking
  • Demonstrates leadership, accountability, and delegation skills
  • Supports shared governance and unit‑based decision‑making
  • Proficient in basic computer use and clinical documentation systems
